Meet Our Director
My name is Amber Dampier and I am the new Director of Milan Christian Learning Center at FUMC. Before taking this position, I had the privilege of teaching the Early Pre- K class for the last 3 years as well as the 2-year-old class before that at Milan CLC. I have been blessed to have been able to work in childcare for the last 10 years. After Graduating from Milan High School, I attended the University of Memphis where I studied Criminal Justice with a specialty in Social Work. After 2 Years I realized that God was calling me to be a teacher. I left the University of Memphis and moved to Arkansas where I attended Bible College. While there, I studied biblical foundations and Education. After moving back to Milan and taking the job at CLC I decided to continue to further my education in Early Childhood at Dyersburg State Community College.
The last four years of working at CLC has been one of the best experiences of my life. I have loved being a part of the family dynamic as well as getting to know and teach all the amazing kids that attend here. I have been blessed to work under some of the best bosses as well as work with some great coworkers. I know that I have some big shoes to fill as I step into this new position. I have no doubt that God has great things planned for the future of CLC and I look forward to serving each of you in the days ahead.
Meet Our Traditional Pre- K Teacher
Meet Our Pre-K Teacher, Mrs. Joy Fowler. She comes too us with years of experience and isn’t new to the CLC family! We are so excited to have her join us in the fall! She is exactly what our Pre-K students need to prepare them for the future! I just know your kids will fall in love with her!
A little note from Mrs. Joy
“My name is Joy Fowler. I live in Milan with my three cats. I have been a teacher for over 30 years. I collect frogs because they remind me to Forever Rely On God. Since I retired I have worked at a couple of different places but I just was not happy, I couldn’t see myself anywhere but back in the classroom. Teaching is in my blood. I am very excited to be back at CLC. I can’t wait to welcome all my little bees to our classroom beehive, as well as to work with you to make this a wonderful year for your child.”
Meet Our Montessori Pre- K Teacher
Meet our Early-Pre-k teacher Mrs. Caroline Hudspeth. She also is no stranger to CLC as she has worked with us for a while subbing in all of our classes at CLC. She is such a joy to be around and always has such a positive attitude! She comes to us with a great amount of experience such as: A Degree in early childhood education from UTM. Experience teaching Kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd grade. One of the most exciting aspects of having Mrs. Caroline as one of our teachers is she is always looking to learn something new and has gained some incredible insight and knowledge on working with any child on any level. She is so excited to incorporate calm colors, and fresh nature type learning into her classroom! I have no doubt that she will take our Early Pre-K classroom to the next level!
Meet Our 2.5- 3-Year-Old Teacher
Mrs. Nikki is new to CLC. She has previously worked in childcare, and she is excited to see where this journey will take her. Here is a note from Mrs. Nikki.
Hey! I just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself! I'm from Chattanooga, TN. I have two daughters, who are 5 and 2. We moved to Medina a little over a year ago. My husband is in the Army National Guard, he got a promotion that moved us to Medina. A little bit about my childcare experience. I started in childcare when I was 18, while I went to college. I got a bachelor's degree in early childhood education at UTC. I then went on to teach Kindergarten for 6 years. I decided to step out of the classroom after my second daughter was born. I ended up getting a job at the daycare where both of my daughters went. I was a director there for a year. Once we moved, I become a stay-at-home mom and recently decided to step back into childcare since my oldest started school.
Oh, and GO VOLS!
Meet Our 2-Year-old teacher
Meet our two-year-old teacher Shayna Bomar. We are so excited to have Ms. Shayna join our staff this fall. She comes to us new to our CLC family but not new to our Milan Community. She has a great personality, smile, and it is always easy to see the love and passion she has for the kids she teaches.
Here is a Note from Ms. Shayna “Hi, my name is Shayna Bomar. I am a member at Moores Chapel MBC in Sitka, Tn. Teaching them and getting them prepared for the next step in life is amazing and so much fun!”
We have no doubt that she will do amazing things at CLC and that she will lead and prepare our two-year-olds for the future!
Meet Our 18 Month Teacher
Meet Our Toddler Teacher Shala Bomar. You might notice when you see her around that she has a twin teaching in the class right next door! We are so excited to have her teaching the future of CLC! She also has 18+ years of experience. One of my favorite qualities about her is she is so patient, loving, and understanding when it comes to toddlers. It’s easy to see that this job was what God called her to do!
